We recently picked up some new Bose 2.1 speakers. These Bose speakers were the perfect addition to any in-home entertainment system. The surround sound is out of this world. The surround sound is complemented by a clean, full bass, adding fullness to any genre of music or movie experience.

A common misconception is home theater speaker systems are exorbitantly expensive without options to fit any budget. Fortunately, however, this could not be farther from the truth. One of the best 2.1 speaker systems on the market comes from the top name in the audio development, manufacturing and production world, Bose.

The founders of Bose had a vision of inventing new technologies that would truly benefit consumers and creating a culture where innovation and teamwork and valued above all else. They were not looking to make a quick buck. Rather, they believed playing the long game would allow greatness to follow.

Bose 2.1 Speakers

[amazon box=”B000A0QIEC”]

Pros

  • Sleek design with beautiful rounded edges
  • Can easily be hidden or incorporated into your interior decorating
  • Has a very small footprint
  • check-circleNo rear speakers, so no wiring behind your television
  • check-circleComes with a free 30-day trial
  • check-circleEasy to install – plugs directly into your tv

Cons

  • Some reviewers say the wire is too long, but this can also be seen as a positive thing
  • No visual indication of current volume level
  • Unfortunately, it does not pair with Roku Player

These are the best home theater speakers I have ever experienced. They set up in a snap and didn’t have a ton of complicated wires to connect. In fact, the four connections that had to be made took all of about two minutes. They are extremely aesthetically appealing but small enough that you can hide them if you want to.

Product Specs

These 100-Watt speakers deliver the most realistic sounds of all home theater speaker systems I have experienced. It puts you straight into the movie like you’re an active participant, not like you’re watching a Michael Bay movie at the IMAX. It comes with two, beautifully designed visible speakers and a hideaway Acoustimass model that does not compare to anything except the Bose Companion 5. The entire setup including speakers and Acoustimass and interface modules weigh in at only 34.5 pounds. With shipping dimensions of only 12.88″ x 19.63″ x 24.25″, it was easy to carry up the twenty-six steps to our living room.

How it Compares

We picked a few similar products available on the market to see how they compare.

  • Logitech Z200
  • Creative Inspire T3300
  • Bang & Olufsen PLAY

Ease of Use

I would give the ease of use for the Bose 2.1 speakers.

Assembly Time

These speakers only took a few minutes to hook up, requiring only a few, simple connections.

Design Quality

Absolutely loved the design quality of these speakers. At only 5.5″ width by 2.5″ height by 4.1″ depth, they easily fit on top of our entertainment center. Additionally, the color and design went very well with the decor in our living room.

Warranty

Bose offers free returns on all their speakers and even a free 30-day trial to see if they work for you, so there is no risk to trying these out. Additionally, they offer free shipping and support.

Logitech Z200

[amazon box=”B00EZ9XKDG”]

Pros

  • Convenient headphone jack for easy-to-use privacy
  • Easily control volume from your computer or the speakers themselves
  • Compatible with many media devices
  • check-circleIt is extremely compact in design and easy to use
  • check-circleUse with two media sources simultaneously with a 3.5 mm audio jack and auxiliary line or easily switch between them.

Cons

  • Poor bass can irritate
  • Unrealistic sounds when watching movies

The main thing the Logitech Z200 has going for it is its compact size. Each speaker only demands 10 watts of power, but the 2.5″ in drivers offer very substandard sound. Just don’t expect too much out of the lower range. The easy-to-use dial to adjust the bass was also deceptive as the quality was very underwhelming. These speakers are compatible with all computer sound cards, tablets and smartphones with two separate audio line-ins so you can use them with multiple devices. These are perfect for those who are not audiophiles and just want to listen to loud music, movies or video games.

Product Specs

This product is available in black and white with an alternative pattern and an incremented 10W booster sound attached to the speaker. It also features a control volume unit with a portable jack of 3.5mm that is also connected at the rear side of the speaker. In addition to this, the speaker has a sleek and tall design with a nearly 15inch screen which requires a separate power source from the Logitech Z200 speaker.

Ease of Use

I would give the ease of use for the Logitech Z200 speakers.

Assembly Time

These speakers only took minutes to get set, requiring only a few, simple connections with an optional attachment with other gadgets.

Design Quality:

I admire its simple design which looks sleek and tower-shaped. The black and white color amazingly matches with its design which enhances its entertaining appearance.

Warranty:

Logitech offers to replace a defective product within 30 days of purchase when a proof of purchase is presented. According to the brand, only a receipt can validate its warranty.

Creative Inspire T3300

[amazon box=”B009T9YUZE”]

Pros

  • Price befits the quality of the product
  • Cable long enough for two monitor setup
  • Can get as loud as you need them to before sound quality is affected

Cons

  • Size is smaller and may not be suitable for use in an open area.
  • Mids and highs take several hours to burn in although bass sounds fine straight out of the box.

The Creative Inspire T3300 is marginally better than the Logitech Z200 in producing quality lower notes. It is a 25 watt 2.1 stereo speaker system with two drivers and one large, powerful woofer. As is to be expected, the sound quality is nowhere near that of the Bose 100 watt speakers. They are also much larger, at 9.5″ height, 3.5″ width and 4″ depth.

Product Specs

The creatively designed Inspire T3300 has permanently attached leads at the rear of the subwoofer with its mains power connection measuring about 140cm just close to the remote control unit. Also, the remote control features a side placed volume, on/off power light at the tip. It is rather designed to be lightweight with more plastic components.

Assembly Time

Like the Logitech Z200, these speakers also took some minutes to set up, requiring only a few, simple connections with an optional attachment with other gadgets.

Design Quality

Just like its name goes, it is creatively designed to meet the entertainment needs of users. It is quite portable and lightweight which makes it exceptional for easy movements even with the two satellite speakers. A lot of effort must have been put in place for the development of this model.

Warranty

The manufacturer of this product states that warranty extends only to the end user and is not transferable to another subsequent purchaser. They also maintain that the limited warranty is only applicable in the country where the product was purchased, and that proof of payment must be presented for a warranty to be validated. The owner would not pay for any replacement part. The warranty period, however, stands for 12-months.

Bang & Olufsen PLAY

[amazon box=”B0155VM8YY”]

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • No audio delays

Cons

  • Doesn’t quite replace surround sound
  • Limited warranty policy

This sound system comes with two six-inch 140-watt speakers, a 1.7 foot 280-watt sub-woofer and a TV connection hub. The sound quality is terrible, especially for the power demand, and there are way too many wires. It was complicated to set up and the ugliest of all the speaker systems on this list by far.

Product Spec

The Bang and Olufsen play is a semi-circle in shape. The speaker weighs about 600grams which simply concludes that it is weighty, considering its small size. It also consists of an aluminum dome around its body with a polymer base which forms around it. All of its controls are directly infused into its polymer base. Another amazing specification of this product is its easy connection with a computer through a USB. It also features a Bluetooth pairing button on its base. Due to the product’s design, you have the option of connecting a wired device through a 3.5mm auxiliary connection.

Assembly Time:

Unlike the Logitech Z200 and Creative Inspire T3300, the Bang and Olufsen speaker does not require much time to set up, requiring only a few, simple connections with an optional attachment with other gadgets like the computer or mobile phone.

Design Quality:

It has a simple, attractive design which is circular. The grey color makes it more stylish and you can either see it as an advantage or a disadvantage depending on what gadget it is being connected to.

Warranty:

Bang and Olufsen Play reserves the right to refuse warranty only if the information pertaining to its conditions have been removed after the purchase of the original product. It, however, reiterates its obligation to repair or replace a defected product if the owner presents a proof of purchase.

Conclusion

In conclusion, from all the reviews and comparison carried out and having the best options showcased we have picked one that stands out as a worthy choice. Out of all speakers in the low-to-moderate price range, the Bose 2.1 speakers stand out above the rest. It’s hard to say this in a review, but we didn’t have anything negative to say about these speakers although others online have.

Therefore these options are flexible and affordable to anyone who doesn’t want to spend much on sound devices. If you are on a tight budget or not looking for premium quality surround sound, the Creative Inspire T3300 is a solid choice.

However, if you are looking for excellent surround sound with easily adjustable bass, a sleek, modern look, and the best value for your money, look no further than the Bose 2.1 speakers. We hope this list has been helpful in your search for speakers and has provided you with information that will guide you in your selecting the best from the plethora of options out there. Thank you for reading through.
